Goods transport operational restrictions for Idul Fitri 2026 set for March 13-29

The Ministry of Transportation has announced operational restrictions on goods transport during the Lebaran Idul Fitri 2026 period to ensure smooth homecoming and return traffic. The restrictions will apply from March 13 to 29, 2026, on toll roads and arterial routes. Certain vehicles are exempt from these rules.

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has established operational restrictions on goods transport during the Lebaran Idul Fitri 2026 period. This arrangement aims to support the smooth flow of homecoming and return traffic, applying to both toll roads and arterial roads.

Director General of Land Transportation at Kemenhub, Aan Suhanan, stated that the restrictions cover trucks with three or more axles, trucks with trailers, semi-trailers, and those carrying mining products, mining results, and building materials. "The operational restrictions on goods transport during the Lebaran period will be enforced continuously from March 13, 2026, at 12:00 local time until March 29, 2026, at 24:00 local time," Aan said on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Exempt vehicles that can continue operating include those transporting BBM/BBG, livestock, fertilizer, and disaster relief aid. Goods distribution remains possible using two-axle vehicles, except for mining products such as soil, sand, stone, mining results, and building materials like iron, cement, and wood. Basic goods can be distributed provided the vehicles do not exceed load or dimensions, supported by contract or agreement documents between the goods owner and transport operator.

Permitted operating vehicles must be equipped with a loading letter issued by the goods owner, containing details on the type of goods, destination, and the owner's name and address. This letter must be displayed on the left side of the front windshield.

These regulations are outlined in the Joint Decree (SKB) Number KP-DRJD 854 of 2026; HK.201/1/21/DJPL/2026; Kep/43/II/2026; 20/KPTS/Db/2026, signed by Aan Suhanan, Director General of Sea Transportation Muhammad Masyhud, Director General of Road Infrastructure at the Ministry of Public Works Roy Rizali Anwar, and Head of the Traffic Corps of the National Police Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho.
