Happy Ice cart set to open at Downtown Disney today

Happy Ice will launch its new Downtown Disney cart on June 19. The Los Angeles-based brand marks the first permanent Black-owned dessert company in the district.

Happy Ice, founded by Lemeir Mitchell, operates as a Black-owned Philadelphia Italian ice brand. It offers fruity flavors and frozen desserts made with real fruit, pure cane sugar, and premium ingredients.

The cart opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. on June 19, which is also Juneteenth. The first 50 customers receive a free T-shirt, while the next 50 get a free tote bag.

Menu items include the JOY-LATI layered dessert with Italian ice, vanilla sweet cream, sauces, and fresh fruit in flavors such as banana pudding and strawberry shortcake.

The brand previously operated a food truck in the area during 2022.
