Huila emerged as a standout delegation at FILBo 2026 under the slogan “Huila literary paradise”. Governor Rodrigo Villalba kicked off Huila Day activities, stating: “Integral human development is not measured only in cement; it is measured by our people's ability to imagine, create, and narrate their own destiny”. He addressed national and international attendees, including India's delegation, the guest of honor.
The lineup featured tributes to icons like José Eustasio Rivera, author of La Vorágine, Joaquín García Borrero, Waldina Dávila, and Humberto Tafur. Contemporary writers such as Benhur Sánchez Suárez, Isaías Peña, and Winston Morales led sessions, blending literary heritage with fresh voices.
Beyond literature, Huila's folklore came alive through music, dance, and traditions. Corferias' Gran Salón C reached full capacity for the awarding of the XX International Novel Biennial Prize, organized by Fundación Tierra de Promisión and Neiva's City Hall. Children engaged in reading activities fostering cultural identity from an early age.
