A federal judge has ruled that All Elite Wrestling cannot fully seal three contracts belonging to Ryan Nemeth in an ongoing arbitration dispute. The decision came Tuesday from Judge Patricia Barksdale in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
The ruling allows AEW to refile redacted versions of the contracts along with a new motion to seal. Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics had opposed the original request, arguing the documents should not be fully sealed.
AEW filed a petition on June 5 seeking to compel arbitration of the dispute in Florida under state law. Nemeth sued Tony Khan, AEW and CM Punk in February 2025, alleging assault, breach of contract and other claims.
Thurston may file another motion if the redactions are deemed excessive. AEW could withdraw the contracts but would then lose the ability to use them in its arbitration effort.
