Kevin Shields joins Primal Scream on stage at Ireland festival

My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields made a surprise appearance with Primal Scream during their set at the Beyond The Pale festival in Ireland on June 13.

The performance took place at Glendalough Estate in County Wicklow. Shields joined the band for renditions of Accelerator and Shoot Speed/Kill Light midway through the show.

He returned at the end of the 12-song set to perform Rocks with the group. Shields had previously been a semi-permanent member of Primal Scream from 1998 to 2006.

The reunion follows the band's recent 25th anniversary shows for their album XTRMNTR. Primal Scream is scheduled to play the full album on a UK tour starting in Glasgow in September.
