Kevin Shields tritt beim irischen Festival gemeinsam mit Primal Scream auf

Kevin Shields von My Bloody Valentine überraschte am 13. Juni mit einem Gastauftritt bei Primal Scream während deren Set auf dem Beyond The Pale Festival in Irland.

Der Auftritt fand auf dem Glendalough Estate in der Grafschaft Wicklow statt. Shields stieß Mitte der Show zur Band, um die Songs Accelerator und Shoot Speed/Kill Light zu spielen. Er kehrte zum Ende des aus 12 Liedern bestehenden Sets zurück, um gemeinsam mit der Gruppe Rocks zu performen. Shields war bereits von 1998 bis 2006 ein halbständiges Mitglied bei Primal Scream. Die Wiedervereinigung folgt auf die kürzlichen Konzerte der Band zum 25-jährigen Jubiläum ihres Albums XTRMNTR. Primal Scream plant, das Album im Rahmen einer UK-Tournee, die im September in Glasgow beginnt, in voller Länge zu spielen.

The xx reunited onstage on April 3 at Mexico City's Pepsi Center WTC for their first complete performance as a trio since 2018. Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim, and Jamie xx delivered a 19-song set drawing from their studio albums and solo projects. The show kicked off three sold-out gigs in the city and precedes festival dates.

Primal Scream will perform their 2000 album XTRMNTR in its entirety during a seven-date UK tour this September. The shows kick off with two nights at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom. The band also revealed plans for reissues of The Bunker Trilogy.
