The victim was rushed to Mainland General Hospital in Yaba, where he was confirmed dead.

"Investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident," the command stated.

Vanguard correspondent Efe Onodjae witnessed a white car and a black car at the scene around 11:52 p.m., surrounded by uniformed police officers, with the site initially appearing like an accident. Reports on social media allege that the deceased was a prominent figure in the Buccaneers confraternity in the Surulere area.
