Late on Tuesday evening around 22:30, Jimmy Lundgren, 40, spotted two waterspouts outside his bathroom window. He was heading to bed when the vortices appeared and remained visible for a few minutes before vanishing.
Lundgren described the sight as fascinating yet recalled more serious cases from the United States. No objects were seen flying around, and he assessed that the waterspouts struck over the sea.
Meteorologist Lasse Rydqvist at Klart explained that waterspouts form in powerful cumulus clouds and that double formations are rare but possible. The phenomenon is relatively uncommon in Sweden but is reported annually during summer.
