Minnesota man sentenced for killing ex-girlfriend

Craig Hameister received a sentence of more than 34 years in prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Melissa Hunt.

Craig Hameister, 45, was sentenced on Monday to 415 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. He pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional murder in March and admitted in court that he shot Hunt in the face with the intent to kill her. The judge also ordered him to pay nearly $10,135 in restitution and gave credit for 327 days already served.
