A 16-year-old girl was found dead by her mother in Hillsboro, Missouri, after being shot in the head by one of her friends.
Gabbriana "Gabby" Boyster was discovered in her bedroom on Saturday afternoon with a fatal gunshot wound. Police believe the shooting occurred the previous night while she was at home with friends.
Three teenage boys, all described as her friends, were arrested. One faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action in addition to abandonment of a corpse. The other two were charged only with abandonment of a corpse and were released.
Gabby's mother, Candy G'Sell, told local media she was away during the gathering and found her daughter upon returning home. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The school district confirmed Gabby was set to begin her junior year of high school.
