Mystery of 'Li Wang': Who is behind notorious investment site Accgn?

Swedish investors have lost tens of thousands of kronor on the Accgn investment site, which suddenly shut down. SVT's investigation traces the site's operators far from Sweden – to China and a mysterious 'Li Wang'. Police fraud unit has received at least 12 reports against the site.

The Accgn investment site lured users with a seemingly simple method to generate revenue, but behind the facade hid a pyramid scheme that has defrauded investors across Sweden. The site was presented as a reliable platform for investments, but it shut down unexpectedly, leaving many without their money.

Police fraud unit has now received at least 12 reports from affected Swedes. 'My assessment is that there is a large dark figure, that many feel great shame and do not report', says Moa Langemark, consumer protection economist at Finansinspektionen, to SVT.

SVT's review shows the site is down, but traces point to China. In 2025, media and authorities have reported on extensive China-linked cyber scam operations, often based in Southeast Asia. Through analysis of digital footprints and open sources, SVT has found small details linking Accgn to China and a figure named 'Li Wang'. It remains unclear who this person is, but the connection raises questions about international fraud networks.

Finansinspektionen warns against such sites and urges victims to report. The investigation highlights the risks of unregulated online investments and the growing threat from foreign scams.
