The Athletic reported on Tuesday that the league's inquiry, conducted by the law firm Wachtell Lipton, has broadened. It now examines whether the Clippers covered unreimbursed expenses for Leonard and whether he had another undisclosed endorsement agreement.
Commissioner Adam Silver is scheduled to address the matter after the NBA Board of Governors meeting in Las Vegas. Earlier comments from Silver before the NBA Finals indicated the league aimed to conclude the review promptly while ensuring accuracy.
The Clippers have stated they expect the trade to proceed once the investigation ends. Both the Clippers and Raptors have confirmed full cooperation with the process, which includes multiple interviews and document reviews.
