A new rape complaint was filed against singer Patrick Bruel on June 24 with the Nanterre prosecutor’s office. The complainant accuses him of rape in the Paris region in the 2000s when she was 16.
The complaint was transmitted to the four investigating judges already handling the case. Patrick Bruel, 67, has been under formal investigation since June 10 in four other cases involving rape, attempted rape and sexual assaults dating from 2008 to 2019.
The complainant’s lawyer, Me Tristan Vieules-Augendre, said his client does not wish to go public and reserves her account for the judiciary. Since Bruel’s indictment, at least five other complaints have been filed for similar acts between 1992 and 2014.
Bruel’s lawyers stated that the singer will respond to these accusations in court. They criticized the anonymous and imprecise nature of the allegations.
