Niall Horan revealed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he plans to bring his upcoming Dinner Party tour to the United States. The singer discussed his new album of the same name, set for release on June 5, and shared the story behind its title track. He also reunited with a novelty potato from One Direction's past visit to the show.
Niall Horan visited Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his first album in three years, Dinner Party, due out on June 5. The former One Direction member performed and spoke about the title track, an acoustic song recounting how he met his girlfriend six years ago at what he described as a drinks party in London, when he was a single bachelor. 'You don’t see those things as big deals, and six years later you look back and you’re like, “That worked,”' Horan told host Jimmy Kimmel of the encounter that led to his current relationship. He added that the event felt like a once-in-a-lifetime connection. Horan has announced tour dates in Ireland, Europe, and the U.K., beginning in September. When Kimmel asked about North America, Horan replied, 'It’s not announced, but yeah,' after noting, 'We’re still to announce more dates. But you know what usually comes next.' The conversation also touched on One Direction nostalgia. Kimmel presented Horan with the '1D Potato,' a gift from the band's 2015 appearance that gained fame after they posted it online, even earning its own Instagram page. Horan said it had sprouted and he had not seen it since. Later, Horan took part in a fan quiz about his own life, where the fan emerged victorious.
