Niall Horan nearly forgot One Direction lyrics at Wembley

Niall Horan has described a moment of uncertainty while performing a One Direction song at Wembley Stadium. The singer worried about remembering verses he had not sung before. He shared the story during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Niall Horan performed in front of 80,000 fans at London’s Wembley Stadium last weekend. He was headlining the Capital FM Summertime Ball and began a solo version of the 2014 track “Steal Your Girl.”

On the original recording, Horan had only sung a couple of lines. As he started the first verse on stage, he realized he had never performed the other parts, which were originally sung by Zayn Malik and the late Liam Payne.

Horan told host Jimmy Fallon that the thought crossed his mind mid-performance. “I’ve never sung this verse before,” he recalled thinking, adding that he hoped not to forget the words in front of the large crowd.

He completed the song without issue. Horan noted that fans likely would have helped if he had stumbled over the lyrics.
