Police hunt person who left baby in train toilet

A baby boy was found in the toilet of train KA Sancaka 84B on Saturday 4 July 2026. Police are now investigating the identity of the person who left him.

The baby was first discovered by PT KAI staff around 07.20 WIB while the train was still moving. Upon arrival at Solo Balapan Station at 07.30 WIB, the infant was taken to the station health post for initial checks.

Doctors and midwives from Klinik Mediska KAI Solo declared the baby healthy and stable. He is now receiving intensive care at RS Bhayangkara Surakarta.

Satreskrim Polresta Surakarta and Unit Reskrim Polsek Banjarsari examined the crime scene, interviewed witnesses, collected evidence, and reviewed CCTV footage. Kapolsek Banjarsari Kompol Harno said they are coordinating with PT KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta to identify the perpetrator.

Police urged anyone with information to report immediately. They also called on the public to increase awareness of child protection.
