Real Madrid sets presidential elections for June 7

Real Madrid's electoral board announced valid candidacies on Tuesday for the club's presidential vote set for June 7 in Madrid. Florentino Pérez and Enrique Riquelme are the two contenders.

The electoral board, chaired by José Manuel de Carlos Grau, validated the candidacies of Florentino Pérez Rodríguez, member number 1,484, and Enrique José Riquelme Vives, member number 41,736. Voting will take place on Sunday, June 7, between 9:00 and 20:00 at the basketball pavilion of the Real Madrid sports city in Valdebebas.

Pérez leads a continuity list that includes several current board members. Riquelme offers an alternative candidacy with Antonio Medina Cuadros as vice president and Francisco Gaspar Riquelme Rubira as secretary.

These will be the first elections in 20 years. The campaign starts this Wednesday with events from both candidates in Madrid.
