The number of seagull cases in Stockholm has risen 29 percent so far this year. A total of 162 incidents have been reported to the city.
Stockholm city has received 162 reports about birds during 2026. This marks an increase from 126 cases the previous year.
Most complaints concern seagulls littering and eating garbage. Malinda Flodman at the Traffic Office confirms this as the primary issue.
The company Rentokil also reports more acute bird assignments than in prior years. They have handled just over 100 such cases nationwide so far.
In central Jönköping residents have described similar problems with nests on roofs and attacks on people.
