Senate website defaced by hacktivist groups

The Senate confirmed that its official website was defaced by hacktivist groups Nullsec Philippines and SentinelX.

On Thursday the Senate said no sensitive information was affected in the incident. Its EDP-MIS Bureau launched an investigation and implemented additional security measures.

Nullsec Philippines claimed responsibility in a Facebook post late Wednesday night. The group stressed the need for transparency and accountability in government.

SentinelX said it defaced the site twice and criticized its weak cybersecurity despite a P6.5 million contract. Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian called the act a crime.
