SP highways record 634 km of slowdowns on Labor Day eve

On the night of April 30, 2026, São Paulo's state highways accumulated 634.7 km of simultaneous slowdowns, according to Artesp data from Waze. Toward the coast, Rodovia dos Imigrantes saw slow traffic between km 32 and 43, plus holdups at km 47-49 and 65-70. Rodovia Anchieta had jams at km 33-42 and 54-56 toward the coast, and slowdowns at km 59-63 inbound. To the interior, Rodovia Raposo Tavares built up over 20 km of queues from km 12 to 33 around 6:30 p.m., while Castelo Branco congested at km 20-26 and 32-36.

In the city, CET's slowdown index peaked at 1,231 km at 5:30 p.m., after surpassing 900 km early afternoon from 400 km in the morning. By 7 p.m., it fell to 718 km, still above average.
