Independent developer ViJuDa has revealed that Super Woden: Rally Edge, a rally-focused spin-off from the Super Woden GP series, will arrive on PC via Steam on January 15, 2026. The title shifts to a top-down perspective and emphasizes arcade-style fun over realism. Console releases are planned for later in the year.
ViJuDa, led by creator Víctor Justo Dacruz, announced the precise launch date for Super Woden: Rally Edge following a delay from its original 2025 target. The decision to push the release to early 2026 stems from a commitment to quality, as Dacruz noted the need for a "calm and deliberate approach" to meet high standards.
Development Background
Originally unveiled in June 2024, the game draws inspiration from retro arcade racers such as Sega Rally and Neo Drift Out. A demo became available in June 2025 but has since been removed. Unlike the isometric view in Super Woden GP I and II, this entry adopts a top-down camera to spotlight rally racing mechanics, moving away from grand prix events.
Key Features
Players can explore a wide range of vehicles, from compact models to powerful hillclimb options. The title includes a detailed garage for buying, selling, upgrading, and customizing cars. Additional elements feature an original soundtrack evoking rally intensity, a photo mode for capturing moments, local split-screen multiplayer for up to four participants, and online leaderboards for time-based competitions. The graphical style has been refreshed with meticulous attention to detail, aiming to blend nostalgic arcade vibes with deeper car culture elements.
Platform and Availability
The PC version hits Steam first, with console ports slated for about five to six months afterward. Dacruz described the experience as returning to "an era where fun goes beyond realism," highlighting the game's focus on enjoyment and substance. Gamers can add it to their Steam wishlist to stay updated.
