Swatch receives 1.2 million applications for Apollo 11 MoonSwatch

Swatch attracted 1.2 million applications for its limited Apollo 11 MoonSwatch edition. The company will produce just 1,969 watches priced at CHF 500 each.

Swatch opened an online application portal from July 16 to July 21 for the special edition. The watches mark the Apollo 11 Moon landing with a production cap of 1,969 pieces, each containing 11 grams of Moonshine Gold.

Applicants completed a 32-question ESTA questionnaire. Swatch reported intense traffic that briefly overloaded servers during the submission period.

Winners will receive notifications starting July 27 and must complete purchases within 48 hours. The selection process evaluates quiz scores, creative responses, and completion timing.
