TNT defeats Ginebra to tie PBA finals series at 1-1

TNT held off a late Ginebra rally to win 101-94 on June 5 and even the 2026 PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals at one game apiece.

TNT led by as many as 21 points before Barangay Ginebra cut the margin to four with under a minute left at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Calvin Oftana sealed the victory with two free throws at the 18-second mark. Oftana finished with 31 points and 10 rebounds while Chris McCullough added 19 points and 16 rebounds. Justin Brownlee scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Ginebra. “We knew Ginebra would come back because of their never-say-die spirit,” Oftana said. “I’m happy for the team that we overcame that run by Ginebra.” The best-of-seven series now shifts to Game 3 with both teams level at 1-1.
