Tropical Depression Dos-E forms off the coast of Guerrero

Tropical Depression Dos-E formed on Sunday, June 7, in the Pacific Ocean off Guerrero and is expected to evolve into Tropical Storm Boris.

According to the National Meteorological Service, Tropical Depression Dos-E was located 135 kilometers south of Acapulco with maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour. It is forecast to become Tropical Storm Boris between Sunday night and the early hours of Monday, June 8. The National Water Commission warned of extraordinary rainfall in Guerrero over two days, exceeding the monthly average precipitation. Intense rains are also expected in Michoacán and Oaxaca, with storms in Jalisco, Colima, Mexico City and other states. Authorities closed ports in Guerrero and Oaxaca. The Guerrero Education Secretariat suspended classes on Monday in several regions. Civil Protection issued recommendations to avoid risks from flooding and landslides.
