Webtoon Entertainment has announced a partnership with Warner Bros. Animation to co-produce a slate of 10 fan-favorite webcomic series for global distribution. The collaboration aims to expand Webtoon's animation pipeline, drawing from its Korean and English-language platforms. Initial titles have been revealed, with more to follow.
Partnership Overview
Webtoon Entertainment is entering a significant deal with Warner Bros. Animation to develop and produce animated adaptations of popular webcomics. The partnership focuses on 10 series selected from Webtoon's platforms, supported by Webtoon Productions in the US and its Japanese IP teams. This move is described as a major expansion of Webtoon's animation efforts, targeting global audiences, particularly Gen Z fans.
Yongsoo Kim, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global Webtoon, stated, “Webtoon has become one of the most exciting sources of original storytelling in entertainment today. Our Creators are building franchises that Gen Z audiences love, and working with Warner Bros. Announced Titles
The initial development slate includes four titles:
- The Stellar Swordmaster by Hong Dae Ui, juno, and Q10: Follows an orphan named Vlad navigating a dark underworld in the trading town of Schoarra after a tragic event.
- Hardcore Leveling Warrior by Sehoon Kim: Centers on top gamer Ethan, who must rebuild his status in the virtual world of Lucid Adventure after being reset to level 1.
- Down to Earth by Pookie Senpai: An average man named Kade encounters an alien girl who crashes into his life, potentially opening his heart.
- Elf & Warrior by AC Stuart and Victor Rosas II: A young half-elf learns about heroism while traveling with a band of outlaws.
No release dates have been announced, and additional projects will be revealed later. The announcement was made on November 12, 2025.
