Deputy Ana María Gazmuri revealed that Housing Minister Iván Poduje sent her WhatsApp messages for four consecutive hours after she questioned the demolition of homes in El Olivar.
Gazmuri detailed that the exchange took place at the end of April, between 18:30 and 22:20, after she expressed doubts about the need to demolish the houses built by the company San Sebastián. The parliamentarian stated that the minister questioned her oversight role and rejected her request for a meeting.
The exchange was forwarded to the Chamber's Secretary General, Miguel Landeros, for evaluation. Gazmuri maintained that writing to a deputy for four straight hours amounts to inappropriate pressure.
The Housing Committee's visit to El Olivar took place on Thursday amid a judicial expert assessment ordered by the Valparaíso Court. The demolition remains halted due to this process.
