André Jardine explained in a June 4 press conference that his departure from Club América stemmed from accumulated fatigue after three years. The Brazilian coach held talks with Santiago Baños and Emilio Azcárraga before deciding jointly.
Jardine noted that managing América involves high demands that pushed him to his limit. “It was a wear and tear of three years, that feels like 10, you get white hair,” he stated. The coach recounted that the process began with a conversation with Baños to share his feelings. He later met with Azcárraga and after a few days they decided jointly to preserve relationships and provide new momentum to the squad. Jardine denied that the exit resulted from disagreements over signings and clarified that club resources were committed to the remodel of Estadio Ciudad de México. He won six titles during his tenure, including the Liga MX three-peat. The Brazilian manager indicated he will consider his future starting June 5 and mentioned he feels Mexican with the dream of coaching the Mexican national team.
