Apple launches iOS 27 with smarter Siri AI at WWDC 2026

Apple has officially introduced iOS 27 at WWDC 2026. The update brings major enhancements to AI-powered Siri and other features while continuing support for older devices up to the iPhone 11.

Apple introduced iOS 27 in California at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2026. The main highlight is the latest Siri AI that understands context better, recognizes screen content and images, and executes cross-app tasks. The virtual assistant now appears as a standalone app with conversation history. The Liquid Glass interface received an update with an opacity slider to adjust transparency. The Photos app gained AI tools to remove objects, extend images automatically, and reframe photos. Safari can now organize tabs automatically and monitor website changes with notifications. iOS 27 supports the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and second-generation iPhone SE. Devices such as the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus are no longer compatible. A developer beta is available now, while the final version is scheduled for the second half of this year alongside the latest iPhone lineup.
