The Argentina national team confirmed its starting lineup to face Algeria at 22:00 on Tuesday in Kansas City Stadium for Group J of the 2026 World Cup.
Lionel Scaloni announced the team with Emiliano Martínez in goal. The defense features Gonzalo Montiel, Cuti Romero, Lisandro Martínez and Facundo Medina. The midfield includes Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernández and Alexis Mac Allister, while Thiago Almada joins Lionel Messi and Lautaro Martínez up front.
Messi will play in his sixth World Cup, a record for any player. Dibu Martínez recovered from a finger fracture and starts. Nicolás Tagliafico is sidelined by injury and Medina takes his place.
Algeria, coached by Vladimir Petkovic, will start Luca Zidane in goal. Riyad Mahrez was named to the bench and Anis Hadj Moussa starts alongside Amine Gouiri. The Argentina squad arrived at the stadium with the light blue and white jerseys prepared in the locker room.
