Judicial authorities are investigating the homicide of a man whose body was found beside the road between Suárez and Asnazú in northern Cauca. The discovery followed an alert from local residents.
Police confirmed the discovery and requested support from the Fiscalía’s Technical Investigation Unit to conduct the judicial inspection. A sign found beside the body accused the victim of theft and extortion and stated he had been killed “por sapo.”
Relatives reported the man had been missing for nearly a month after being taken by unknown persons. The sign was placed under chain of custody for analysis.
The Fiscalía is working to establish the circumstances of the crime and identify those responsible. Although versions linking the case to “limpieza social” have circulated, authorities clarified that hypothesis remains unconfirmed and is part of ongoing investigative lines.
