Awqaf ministry and state banks agree to instalment plan for eid sacrifice vouchers

The Ministry of Awqaf has signed agreements with two state banks to allow buyers of Eid Al-Adha sacrificial meat vouchers to pay in instalments over six months. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the signing at the New Administrative Capital.

The protocols were signed between the Ministry of Awqaf, Banque Misr, and the National Bank of Egypt. Minister of Awqaf Osama Al-Azhari signed with Banque Misr CEO Hisham Okasha and National Bank of Egypt CEO Mohamed El-Etreby.

The ministry will cover any administrative fees above the fixed voucher price. The move aims to expand social protection and help families access the vouchers more easily.

The project is in its 11th year and has previously reached over 10 million families. Vouchers cost 7,000 EGP for imported meat and 9,500 EGP for local meat, with buyers receiving a seven-kilogram share.

A new short code, 17779, has been introduced to manage the service. The remainder of the meat will be distributed to vulnerable families through lists held by the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
