Carlos Hurtado appointed as Ecopetrol's alternate legal representative

Ecopetrol announced shifts in its executive team following a board meeting that approved adjustments to the executive structure to strengthen key areas. Among the changes, Juan Carlos Hurtado Parra was appointed as the alternate legal and commercial representative of Ecopetrol S.A. This role grants him responsibilities in institutional representation and internal strategic decisions.

Hurtado Parra, an electrical engineer from Universidad Industrial de Santander, holds a specialization in Project Evaluation and Development from Universidad del Rosario and an International MBA in Oil & Gas Management from the University of Dundee. His career spans over 25 years in oil, gas, and energy, with 23 years at Ecopetrol. He has held positions such as Vice President of Exploration, Development and Production; Vice President Upstream; Vice President of Subsidiaries and Assets with Partners; and Vice President Technical.

These appointments reflect Ecopetrol's focus on executive renewal to enhance its operations in Colombia's energy sector.
