Casación urges acceleration of Cuadernos case trial

The Federal Court of Criminal Cassation has requested to speed up the trial in the Cuadernos case and hold in-person hearings. It cited the judges of the Federal Oral Tribunal 7 to define a scheme for greater speed. The case, which exposed a bribery scheme in public works, remains without clear resolutions.

The Cuadernos case, which uncovered a bribery scheme in public works contracts during the Kirchner era, remains stalled without definitive progress. Reports indicate that delays in the Federal Oral Tribunal 7 benefit former President Cristina Kirchner, as many judges and prosecutors still fear Kirchnerism after years of pressures, threats, and operations against them.

In an effort to address this, the Federal Court of Criminal Cassation intervened on November 11, 2025. It summoned the judges of the TOF 7 to establish a plan to speed up the judicial process. Proposed measures include convening at the Comodoro Py building three times a week and ending virtual hearings in favor of in-person sessions for greater efficiency.

This development aims to counter the delays that have characterized the case since its outset. The proceedings involve key figures like Cristina Kirchner and expose irregularities in public works awards. While no direct contradictions appear in the sources, prevailing opinions highlight how prolonged delays benefit the accused by sustaining uncertainty.
