Rescuers recovered two more bodies from the rubble of two collapsed buildings in Rohini Sector 16 on Thursday, bringing the death toll to three. The structures fell on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Ram Dua, 62, husband of one of the plot owners; Kafe Mohammad alias Nurul, 24, a labourer who had started work at the site two days earlier; and Ram Kishan, 42, a passerby on a motorcycle.
Police registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Jaiswal said the rescue operation was almost over and the cause remained under investigation.
The four-storey buildings, under construction for about a year on adjacent plots in Rohini Sector 16, collapsed around 4.20 pm on Wednesday. Family members of the deceased waited at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital for the bodies after post-mortem.
