The Speed Classic Cape Town 2025 marked a historic debut as over 140 vehicles, ranging from pre-war classics to modern supercars, tackled the challenging Philip Kgosana Drive in a hillclimb format. Held on 25 October 2025, the event unfolded against the dramatic backdrop of Table Mountain, celebrating South Africa's rich motoring culture with displays of speed, spectacle, and style.

In the pit lane, enthusiasts and drivers prepared an array of standout machines. Kobus de Kock's 2024 Jaguar C-Type shared space with Gavin Rooke's 1970 Porsche 911 and Matthias Annefeld's 930 Porsche 911. Other highlights included Heinz Robert Koehli's 1984 Lola T70, Aldo Scribante's 1968-74 Ford Escort, Jean-Pierre van der Walt's 1972 Ford Escort, and Heinrich du Preez's 1985 AC Cobra. Ashley Baud's 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV returned from a practice run, while Harry Tayler's 1930 Bentley 4.5 Litre Le Mans evoked early motoring eras.

Greg Parton's 1972 DeTomaso Pantera, Franco Scribante's 1970 Chevron B19—which navigated corners during its finals run—and Dewald Pretorius's 1993 Mazda RX7FD added to the diversity. Modern entries like Reghard Roets's 1990 Nissan GTR R32, Henry Biddlecombe's 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera RS Clubsport, and Roy Obery's 1979 Porsche 924 GTP Tribute blended with classics such as James Temple's 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe and Shannon Winterstein's 1969 Titan Mk5 Formula Ford, which achieved a sub-40-second run. Dave Rowley's modified 1970 Volkswagen Beetle and a gravel-spitting Toyota GT Yaris rally car rounded out the field.

Drivers approached the starting line amid excitement, with vehicles returning from practice and competitive runs. The event highlighted the passion for historic and performance motoring in Cape Town, drawing crowds to witness these icons in action.
