Ecléctica to install ideal house in June at Círculo Ecuestre

The Ecléctica project presented its 'ideal house' on Tuesday, to be installed from June 4 to 13 at Barcelona's Círculo Ecuestre with a 20-euro entry fee. Under the auspices of World Capital of Architecture, it pairs interior designers with creatives from various fields to design 12 rooms.

Ecléctica Barcelona was presented on March 17, 2026, at the Casa de la Arquitectura, in the former Gustavo Gili publishing house. Pia Capdevila, the creative director, stated that “each space will be unique, designed for the occasion and the result of a creative dialogue between a designer and a cultural creator,” expecting 14,000 visitors over the ten days the private Círculo Ecuestre club is open to the public, located at Avenida Diagonal with Calle Balmes. This mansion, built in 1910 by Juan José Hervás Arizmendi and decorated by Joan Esteva, was the residence of the Pérez-Samanillo family and the club's headquarters since 1950, founded in 1856 by bourgeois horse enthusiasts. Its oval glass window on the side facade will be accessible to all paying visitors. Tickets go on sale next week on the event's website, still under construction, with visits featuring a guided route through the 12 rooms, plus workshops and conferences. Creative pairs include Isabel Coixet with Lázaro Rosa-Violán for the living room; Javier Cercas, who joined “out of curiosity” after his 2017 success with RCR, with Asun Antón for the library; Risto Mejide and Jaime Prous for the office; or Albert Aurich and Bárbara Aurell for the kitchen. Isabel Coixet joked about “torturing” her collaborator to surprise him. Others are Queralt Lahoz with L35 Architects, Juan Avellaneda with Ricard Trenchs, Xuan Lan with Sara Folch, Martina Klein with Pia Capdevila, Fit Cocó with Adela Cabré, La Ordenatriz with Agata Samons, Mariona Ferran with Cristina Carulla, and Nandu Jubany with Olga Pajares. Rooms have sponsors like Actiu, Damm, and Roca. Like Casa Decor, Ecléctica aims for continuity as a cultural event blending interior design, architecture, art, gastronomy, and music.
