Egypt and World Bank advance innovative financing model for projects

Egypt's planning minister met a World Bank official to discuss stronger cooperation and an innovative financing model for infrastructure projects.

Ahmed Rostom, Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development, met Almud Weitz, the World Bank's Regional Director for Infrastructure in the Middle East and North Africa.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and advance shared strategic priorities. Rostom said Egypt is following a comprehensive development vision focused on sustainable growth, a better investment climate, and greater private sector participation.

The minister noted an innovative financing model that combines public resources, private investment, and foreign capital to fund major national projects more efficiently and sustainably.

Weitz reaffirmed the World Bank's commitment to Egypt's efforts and praised the resilience of its tourism sector. The bank is holding consultations with investors to support green and sustainable tourism.
