Ethiopia's 9th infrastructure week begins

Addis Ababa will host the 9th round of Ethiopia's Basic Infrastructure Development and Construction Week starting today. The event runs from Miazia 9 to 12, 2018 EC. Its guiding principle is 'Ethiopia is rising! Creation, speed and quality for basic development'.

Addis Ababa, Ketit 25, 2018 (Fana BC) - Ethiopia's 9th Basic Infrastructure Development and Construction Week launches with activities focused on progress in foundational works. The week aims to showcase sector achievements to the public and stakeholders, learn lessons, and outline future directions.

Urban and Infrastructure Minister Eng. Chalitu Sani stated in a briefing that this initiative provides a major opportunity to boost domestic industrial production capacity, enhance institutional efficiency, and adopt new growth strategies. Institutions, contractors, and implementing bodies demonstrating improved performance under the theme receive recognition. Contractors are noted for their pivotal role in advancing the construction sector.

Additional data indicates road network expansion from 44,000 km to 182,000 km, achieved by adding 40,000 km of new roads. These efforts highlight ongoing national development initiatives.
