France TV Distribution is handling the international distribution for 'Sorority' (working title), a drama thriller produced by Lincoln TV in collaboration with France Télévisions, La Compagnie Cinématographique, and Panache Productions. The series, originally titled 'Nourrices,' consists of six episodes, each 52 minutes long, and is scheduled for broadcast on France TV.
The story is set in Paris in 1889 and centers on Rose, a woman from a rural background who seeks a better life for her newborn by taking a job as a wet nurse for a bourgeois family. Upon arriving, she encounters Odette, a midwife who informs her that she cannot keep her own child while working. In response, Rose contemplates a desperate measure: swapping her baby with the deceased infant of Hélène de Gersande, a grieving mother from a higher social class.
This act draws Rose, Odette, and Hélène—women from disparate backgrounds—into an alliance as they strive to secure their independence in a patriarchal era. The series was created and written by Alexandra Echkenazi and Vincent Robert, and directed by Vania Leturcq and Savina Dellicour. The cast includes Lula Cotton-Frapier as Rose, Barbara Probst, Jonathan Zaccaï, and additional performers.
