Government and security forces bolster safety in Valle del Cauca

The Valle del Cauca government, alongside Police, Army, and Navy, will heighten security measures for year-end holidays and the start of 2026. Over 200 personnel will deploy across road, river, and sea corridors, aided by drones. The aim is to ensure peace for locals and visitors.

In Cali on December 31, 2025, the Valle del Cauca government announced enhanced security operations for the year-end and the 2026 start. Guillermo Londoño, Secretary of Coexistence and Citizen Security, explained that operations will continue with a massive presence of security forces on the department's main road axes.

The Corredores Seguros strategy will position soldiers and police at 17 strategic land points, while the Pacific Naval Force monitors river and sea corridors. Londoño stressed: “With the Corredores Seguros strategy, Soldiers and Police will be on our department's main road axes, but also the Pacific Naval Force will be on the river and sea corridors, guaranteeing the safety of locals and visitors”.

Over 200 police personnel will deploy, supplemented by Army and Navy units. Additionally, the Territorial Air Protection Network (RAPTOR), equipped with four advanced drones, will aid in preventing and countering crimes at priority tourist spots.

The official noted that presence will double at the year's start: “For the start of the year, we will double our capabilities in every location in our department. And thanks to our Raptor team, we will have our modern drone fleet supporting our security forces' tasks at each of the tourist points prioritized for this year-end and what begins in 2026”.

These measures aim to allow Valle del Cauca residents to celebrate in a peaceful and incident-free environment.
