Government sets one-way and odd-even schedules for 2026 Eid homecoming

The Indonesian government has established traffic engineering measures for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flows through a Joint Decree (SKB) from the Ministry of Transportation, National Police Traffic Corps, and Ministry of Public Works. These arrangements include one-way systems, contra flow, and odd-even rules to reduce vehicle density and ensure traveler safety. Additionally, operational restrictions on goods transport are imposed from March 13 to 29, 2026.

The Indonesian government has announced traffic arrangements to support the smooth flow of homecoming and return traffic during Eid al-Fitr 2026/1447 H. These are outlined in SKB Number KP-DRJD 854 of 2026, signed by Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation Aan Suhanan, Director General of Sea Transportation Muhammad Masyhud, Director General of Road Infrastructure at the Ministry of Public Works Roy Rizali Anwar, and Head of National Police Traffic Corps Inspector General Pol Agus Suryonugroho.

Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation Aan Suhanan stated that the arrangements aim to reduce vehicle density while ensuring smooth and safe travel for commuters. "This arrangement is not new. The goal is to ease congestion and create a safe and comfortable journey," Aan said in a written statement on February 11, 2026.

The main schemes include:
- One-Way System: For outbound homecoming, it applies from KM 70 of Jakarta-Cikampek Toll to KM 421 of Semarang-Solo Toll on March 17-20, 2026, from 12:00 to 24:00. For return flow, from KM 421 Semarang-Solo Toll to KM 70 Jakarta-Cikampek Toll on March 23-29, 2026, from 12:00 to 24:00. Certain toll gates are closed during implementation, with normalization on March 21 and 30 from 00:00 to 02:00.
- Contra Flow System: Implemented on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll KM 47-70 and Jagorawi Toll KM 21-8, with specific schedules for outbound on March 17-22 and return on March 23-29.
- Odd-Even System: Applies on Karawang Barat Toll KM 47-Kalikangkung KM 414 and Tangerang-Merak Toll KM 31-98 for outbound March 17-20 from 14:00 to 24:00, and return March 23-29 from 00:00 to 24:00. Exceptions are granted for presidential vehicles, state officials, TNI/Police, ambulances, public transport, and others.

Additionally, goods transport restrictions are enforced continuously from March 13 at 12:00 to March 29 at 24:00 on toll roads and arterials. These cover goods vehicles with three or more axles, trailers, and carriers of mining materials and construction items. Exceptions apply to fuel, livestock, fertilizers, disaster aid, and essential goods provided loads do not exceed limits, accompanied by a load manifest displayed on the front windshield.

Police may adjust arrangements on the ground in case of sudden traffic changes.
