Kenya meteorological department warns of continued rain in Nairobi and other areas

The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned that Nairobi and several other parts of the country will continue to experience rainfall over the next five days. Rainfall is expected across many regions from October 31 to November 4, 2025, with isolated heavy showers likely in some areas. Strong winds have also been cautioned against in certain regions.

According to the latest report from the Kenya Meteorological Department, rainfall will continue in areas such as Nairobi, Nyeri, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, and Embu. These regions will have cloudy mornings, rains in a few places, and sunny intervals during the day. In the evening, some areas are expected to experience showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 31°C.

In the highland west of the Rift Valley, including Nakuru, Kericho, Kisumu, Kakamega, and Bomet, morning rains and afternoon thunderstorms are predicted. Maximum temperatures will reach 31°C, with minimums at 8°C.

Kitui, Machakos, Taita Taveta, Makueni, and Kajiado counties will see cloudy mornings, sunny intervals, and light showers in a few places, with temperatures from 13°C to 32°C.

Samburu and Turkana are expected to have isolated showers with sunny intervals towards the end of the forecast period. Garissa, Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera, and Isiolo may experience light rains in a few places followed by mostly sunny conditions, with maximum temperatures of 37°C.

Along the coast, Mombasa, Kwale, Lamu, and Kilifi will have morning showers in a few places with sunny intervals later, and temperatures between 22°C and 33°C.

The department has also cautioned that strong southerly to southerly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5m/s) may occur in parts of Northwestern, Northeastern, and Coastal Kenya.
