King Abdullah II praises Prabowo's leadership in Jakarta meeting

Jordan's King Abdullah II praised Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for his leadership guiding the country positively. During a bilateral meeting in Jakarta on November 14, 2025, the king awarded Prabowo the highest honor. They discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties.

The bilateral meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein took place at Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on Friday, November 14, 2025. King Abdullah II expressed his confidence that Indonesia will progress under Prabowo's leadership. "I know that Indonesia will head in a very good direction with your strength, your courage, and your leadership," the king stated.

King Abdullah II also appreciated Prabowo's programs targeting vulnerable groups, which he attributed to military experience. "Many of the programs you have implemented are to reach those in need, and I think this comes from our days as soldiers. You care for the youth and you care for their families," he said. He felt proud to meet this old friend and saw new opportunities to strengthen Indonesia-Jordan ties. "I know that in the discussions we have tonight and tomorrow, there are many new opportunities to strengthen the bonds between Indonesia and Jordan, and that will succeed because of your kindness, your insight, and your leadership," he added.

During the occasion, King Abdullah II awarded the Bejeweled Grand Cordon Al-Nahda, the highest class of the Order of Al-Nahda established in 1917. The honor was presented directly to Prabowo as a symbol of respect for his contributions to bilateral relations, including in humanitarian, defense, education, and regional stability fields.

President Prabowo expressed his emotional ties to Jordan from over 20 years ago, when he was warmly received by the late King Hussein bin Talal. "I always remember my time in Jordan with great affection. Therefore, it is truly a pleasure for me to host you here in Indonesia," he said. Prabowo also invited the king to regard Indonesia as a second home.
