Kobe couple adopts rescue Shiba dog Pomelo

A Kobe couple, Yoneko and Teruo Yoshida, has welcomed Pomelo, a spirited Shiba dog featured in late 2024, into their home. The adoption marks the latest addition to their animal-loving household. The Yoshidas have been adopting dogs since 2007, focusing on providing happy homes for older ones.

Pomelo, an adorable Shiba dog featured in late 2024, has found a new home with Yoneko and Teruo Yoshida, a couple from Kobe. Yoneko, a longtime animal enthusiast, said, “I’ve always liked animals and looked after squirrels and birds.” She added, “When I heard about rescue dogs, I really wanted to be a part of it.”

The couple sought to provide a happy home for a dog that might not have much time left, focusing on those over 10 years old. They began adopting dogs in 2007, with Pomelo as the latest addition to their household. Yoneko noted that the animals have “made our family truly happy” over the years.

This successful adoption highlights the Yoshidas' commitment to animal welfare, creating a nurturing environment for rescue dogs.
