Lazavik, Murzin, Taher win 3|0 Thursday chess tournaments

GMs Denis Lazavik and Volodar Murzin along with IM Yoseph Taher claimed outright victories in the three 3|0 Thursday chess tournaments held on July 2.

Lazavik topped the first event with a score of 10 out of 11. He defeated Magnus Carlsen in round nine before securing the title with a win in the final round.

In the second tournament Murzin recovered from an early setback to finish half a point ahead of the field. His victory came after a last-round win over FM Havard Haug.

Taher captured the third event by winning six consecutive games following an initial loss. He ended the day with a victory over FM Oleksandr Yurovskykh after Murzin fell in the final round.
