Mexico women's team thrashes Saint Vincent 14-0 in World Cup qualifiers

Mexico's women's national team kicked off the Concacaf qualifiers for the 2027 Brazil World Cup with a historic 14-0 thrashing of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Charlyn Corral scored seven goals in the match held on November 29, 2025. This victory sets the record for the biggest win in the team's history.

The match, held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 17:00 central Mexico time in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, saw the team coached by Spaniard Pedro López take control early. Mexico opened scoring in the 6th minute with a goal from Charlyn Corral, assisted by Stephany Mayor. At the 14th, Jacqueline Ovalle extended the lead with a left-footed cross, followed by another from Corral at the 22nd.

The first half ended 5-0, with goals from Scarlett Camberos at the 25th and Corral again at the 45th after a cross from Kenti Robles. In the second half, Alice Soto scored at the 54th with a powerful shot, Ovalle at the 57th, Corral at the 61st, Ovalle at the 65th with her left foot, Montserrat Saldívar at the 72nd, María Sánchez at the 75th, and Corral sealing with two more at the 86th and 90th.

This 14-0 surpasses the previous record of 11-0 against Anguila in 2022. Corral reached 26 goals, becoming the team's second all-time top scorer, overtaking Iris Mora. López had previously noted Saint Vincent's physical strength despite tactical weaknesses. Mexico shares Group A with Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia, and the Virgin Islands, following misses of the last two World Cups, adding pressure to the squad.

The game aired on ESPN 2 and Disney+. 'Historic night for La Femenil! We imposed a 0-14 on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, marking the biggest thrashing in La Femenil's history,' tweeted the national team.
