Military production minister discusses expanded cooperation with FEI president

Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gomaa met with Federation of Egyptian Industries President Mohamed El-Sewedy to explore ways to strengthen industrial cooperation and localize manufacturing technologies. The meeting aligns with presidential directives to deepen domestic manufacturing and reduce imports. Discussions focused on boosting reliance on local products and supporting the National Industrial Strategy.

Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gomaa held talks with Mohamed El-Sewedy, President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), to strengthen cooperation aimed at advancing local industry. Gomaa emphasized the FEI's key role in coordinating industrial activities between major companies and facilitating ties between state-owned enterprises and private firms. He stressed maximizing production capacities of companies under the National Organisation for Military Production.

These initiatives align with the National Industrial Strategy 2024-2030, which seeks a qualitative shift in Egypt's industrial sector to drive economic growth and improve global competitiveness of Egyptian products, Gomaa said.

El-Sewedy highlighted the value of boosting local content through partnerships to create export opportunities, generate foreign currency, and enhance supply chains. He noted support for goals to increase the industrial sector's GDP contribution by 2030, alongside expanding capacities and shifting to green industries.

The discussions included cooperation with El Sewedy Group companies, feeder industry development, and support mechanisms via the FEI. Attendees addressed challenges, upgrades for military production firms, and investment attraction. Tarek Bakheet, Deputy Chairperson and Managing Director of the National Organisation for Military Production, and Mohamed Shereen, Head of the Minister's Office, were present along with other officials.
