Shigeru Miyamoto stated in a recent interview that consumers are shifting away from demanding top hardware specifications in gaming devices. He highlighted convenience and unique gameplay experiences as key factors for Nintendo's approach. The comments come as the company continues strong sales with the Switch 2.
Miyamoto told Famitsu that customers are no longer just looking for specs. He described an ideal where software works on any home device, noting smartphones as an example of widespread accessibility.
The Nintendo creator emphasized the company's focus on gameplay that only it can create, including interfaces. He pointed to advantages like quick responses and high freedom due to supporting one architecture and hardware piece.
Miyamoto also stressed efficiency, saying reducing work is important for development. Nintendo has pursued this with the Switch, which combines handheld mobility and home console play, and the approach continues with Switch 2 sales.
