Palmira starts Christmas route in urban communes

The Palmira City Hall launched the Christmas Route, an initiative touring neighborhoods and communes with recreational activities, novenas, and gifts for children. The program started on December 2 in Comuna 1 and will extend until December 6, covering urban and rural areas. Each municipal department sponsors a specific sector to encourage community involvement.

Palmira's Christmas Route aims to bring holiday cheer to every corner of the city. Started on Tuesday, December 2, in Comuna 1, the event covered neighborhoods such as Zamorano, Palma Real, Molinos Cien, Reservas de Zamorano, La Carbonera, Bosques del Edén, Villa Diana, Simón Bolívar, Los Caimitos, and Coronado. The sessions include recreation, novenas around community nativity scenes, Christmas snacks, and gift distribution to children.

On Wednesday, December 3, the route moved to Comunas 2 and 3, encompassing La Orlidia, Los Cristales, Ignacio Torres, Juan Pablo II, Benedicta, La Emilia, and Olímpico. For Thursday, December 4, visits are scheduled for Comunas 4, 5, and 6, with stops in Loreto, Colombia, Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, San Pedro, La Libertad, and Paraíso.

On Friday, December 5, the route will reach Comuna 7 in Chapinero Sur, Las Delicias, and El Sembrador, as well as rural sectors of Comuna 10 like Amaime, La Pampa, and Boyacá. It will conclude on Saturday, December 6, in the remaining rural communes (8 to 10), including sites such as La Virginia – Los Correa, La Torre district, Palmaseca, La Unión, Obando, La Herradura, Matapalo, Los Piles, Ciudad del Campo, El Bolo La Italia, El Bolo San Isidro, El Bolo Barrio Nuevo, Tablones, El Pital, La Buitrera – Aguaclara, Potrerillo – Calucé, and Tienda Nueva.

Driven by the City Hall, this initiative fosters community integration during the festive season, with each municipal office contributing to a designated area.
