National Police intercepted a vehicle carrying 71 kilos of marijuana in Neiva and captured a 24-year-old man during a nighttime operation.
The events took place at night when officers spotted a white vehicle with polarized windows traveling the wrong way on carrera 1F with calle 54. The driver ignored the stop signal and attempted to flee.
Patrols immediately activated Plan Candado and intercepted the car on calle 29 in barrio Santa Inés. A search of the interior revealed multiple black packages containing approximately 71 kilos of marijuana.
The shipment, valued at around 144 million pesos and equivalent to some 71,000 doses, was seized along with the vehicle. The detainee was turned over to the Fiscalía General de la Nación.
“The coordinated work of our patrols allowed us to react in time to this incident and prevent a significant amount of drugs from reaching the city streets,” said Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police.
